I joined the RAAF in 1991 and completed my Pilot Course in 1996. Since then, I've had a diverse flying career, accumulating over 5500 flying hours across more than 40 fixed-wing and rotary aircraft.
Over my 16 years in Air Mobility, I deployed to East Timor, Solomon Islands, Iraq, Afghanistan, and participated in numerous humanitarian and disaster relief operations. I gained operational experience as a DHC-4 and C-17A captain, C-130J check captain and instructor, and served as a PC-9A Flight Instructor.
I am a Distinguished Graduate of the National Test Pilot School in California, where I graduated as Course Dux in 2007. Subsequently, I served as the Senior Test Pilot at Aircraft Research and Development Unit, overseeing several developmental flight test programs.
My command appointments include being the Commanding Officer of No. 36 Squadron and Officer Commanding 86 Wing. I have also held staff appointments, serving as the Chief of Staff of Air Mobility Group and Chief of Staff to the Chief of Defence Force. In 2016, I was honored as a Member of the Order of Australia. Upon my promotion to Air Commodore in 2021, I took on the role of Director General Airlift and Tanker Systems, where I led major acquisition projects and managed contracted support services for the Air Mobility fleet. In 2023, I assumed my current position as Deputy Air Commander Australia.
