I am honored to have received fellowships from prestigious institutions such as the Australian College of Defence and Strategic Studies, the Royal Aeronautical Society, and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Additionally, I have completed the Advanced Management Program at the renowned Harvard Business School. During my time in the Royal Australian Air force, I had the privilege of piloting various aircraft, including the C130A Hercules with No 36 Squadron, as well as the CT4A Airtrainer, Scottish Aviation Bulldog, and C130E Hercules as a qualified flying instructor. Notably, I served as the Combined Air Component Commander for the International Force East Timor (INTERFET) and Commander of the Australian Forces in East Timor, earning me the esteemed title of Member of the Order of Australia.

After retiring from the Air Force in 2006 was promoted to Officer of the Order of Australia for outstanding achievements in international relations and managing the Air Force.
I subsequently served as Chief Executive of the South Australian Government’s Defence Unit, assisted the Defence Materiel Organisation’s Defence Export Unit, as the Specialist Aerospace Adviser, was a Director of Airservices Australia, National President of the Royal Australian Air Force Association and Vice President Defence Australasia with Rolls-Royce until retirement on 4 August 2020.
